Dear Bay Auto Employees,

On behalf of the USS Cole and Naval Station Norfolk, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the generous donation that Bay Auto made to families of USS Cole. The check has been turned over to the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society USS Cole Fund.

The donation is a testament to the appreciation that the people of Hampton Roads have for the military and to the lost or injured Sailors. The families of the Sailors that gave their lives or were injured in support of our country will not be forgotten through your generous donation. Thank you once again for your good will, selfless charity and support of the United States Navy.

Sincerely,
J. F. Bouchard Captain,
U.S. Navy Commanding Officer

Dear Employees of Bay Auto:

Thank you for your thoughtful and generous contribution to provide financial assistance to the surviving spouses and dependent children of U.S. naval personnel who were critically injured or killed during the October 12th attack on the guided missile destroyer USS COLE (DDG 67).

Public response to this tragedy has been heartwarming. Although we can’t turn back the clock, your contribution (when added to other donations from across the America) will help ease the burden of the families whose lives have been torn asunder by this senseless act of terrorism.

Because it is an organization that has been offering a helping hand to Sailors, Marines, and their families since 1904, the Commander-in-Chief, a U.S. Atlantic Fleet, requested that the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society receive and administer these funds to assist the families of USS COLE in their time of need. Your donation has therefore been forwarded to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society for administration in accordance with your wishes. On behalf of the USS COLE families who will benefit from your generosity, please accept the Navy’s heartfelt gratitude. For Internal Revenue Service documentation purposes, this was a cash contribution, and no goods or services were exchanged for the donation. Again, please accept my sincere thank you for your generous gift.

Sincerely,
W.C. WRIGHT,
Sr. Captain, U.S. Navy Commanding Officer
Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek
